The Top 6 Things About Christmas
It's almost Christmas and there is so much to be excited about! Christmas is the greatest time of year so make the most of the holiday! Whether you celebrate Christmas or not there is so much to enjoy about the season. I am going to go through my 6 favourite things about Christmas.
- Christmas Movies
With Christmas being just around the corner the best movies are always played which can be watched with the whole family while cuddling up with a warm mug of hot chocolate. Aww, how cute. Even though some of them have nothing to do with Christmas like the Wizard of Oz and It's a Wonderful Life they are always played around this time and have the most adorable storylines. Christmas movies have great lessons and let the child in us come back to life. Like Home Alone, who would have thought that an 8 year old being left at home by himself while his parents and siblings are in a different country would make such a great Christmas film that teaches you to not be an annoying child! Wait... Christmas movies are the ones that will stay with you forever and you won't mind waiting a whole year to watch.
- Christmas Food
Food is good anyway, but Christmas food is impeccable. I never knew it was such a luxury to be able to eat turkey and mince pies! Have you ever realised that during a celebration everyone seems to make more food than they need? With Christmas it's like that but X3. Four weeks after Christmas and you will still be eating turkey sandwiches. Hey, we're not complaining. I'm pretty sure right now the line for Iceland hasn't moved forward for three hours. Whether you're eating Christmas pudding, roast potatoes or a Christmas ham; dinner time at Christmas just brings the family together even if you're arguing about who gets the last slice of cake.
- Christmas Songs
Christmas Songs are the best songs ever and yes it is acceptable to start singing them in November. Haters gonna hate. Do you remember when you jumped up and down on your bed singing 'All I want for Christmas is you?' Ah, yesterday was so crazy. Last Christmas, I Wish it Could be Christmas and White Christmas; all oldies but goodies which you just can't get out of your head. Even the new Christmas songs are amazing like Ariana Grande's 'Santa Tell Me' and Justin Bieber's 'Santa Clause is Coming to Town.' Don't pretend you don't like that song. Tell me I'm not the only one who anticipates who is going to be in the new Band Aid's 'Do They Know it's Christmas?' Carols are pretty cool too and give you nostalgia for your primary school days. Christmas Disco's were the bomb.
- Christmas Presents
Christmas is one of the few times you are able to ask for a new phone, a bike, new boots, a laptop, the new Marc Jacobs perfume and concert tickets and get them all. But as you get older, giving presents is way more satisfying. Seeing the look on your friends face after you've given them a perfect present is bliss. Sometimes it doesn't go right though. 'Underwear... Thanks Grandma. I needed that...' I guess it's the thought that counts. Even if it does take you 4 hours to wrap the Lush bath set you got someone you know the look on their face will be thanks enough. Don't forget to be thankful for the gifts that you got or next year you may end up with coal in your stocking.
- Christmas Winter
Christmas equals winter which equals warm and toasty everything. This means it is necessary that you wear a warm jumper and drink a hot drink. It also makes it okay to stay in bed all day watching Netflix. Winter makes everything feel cosy and look beautiful and even summer lovers will be thankful. On the other hand if you're lucky enough that it snows where you live take the opportunity to make snowmen and have snowball fights. The cold never bothered me anyway.
- Christmas Giving
Christmas is the perfect time for giving and making people feel loved. So let's not forget about all the people in the world who are not fortunate enough to have a family or enough money to afford a nice Christmas with presents, food or a warm house. Helping people is the best way to spread holiday cheer so why not donate to those in need!
