What People In TV and Movies Don't Understand

What People In TV and Movies Don't Understand

So yesterday, while I was watching Pretty Little Liars I realised characters in TV are pretty clueless. Don't get me wrong, I am still going to watch the show but I'm also going to still be confused on why the girls are living in Rosewood when there is a freaky serial killer after them. If I was in that show I would be out of Rosewood before you could say 'Oh, so you're A.'

Investigating Isn't Always The Best Option

Have you ever watched a scary movie or a show where the main character is just chilling at home by themselves and then all of a sudden, footsteps can be heard from upstairs. With all your might you warn them to not go and investigate. But no, up the stairs they go and five seconds later they're dead. Seriously people, do you not watch TV? When has going to investigate a mysterious noise ever ended well? Also, to all the characters that think the day that all the electricity in your house turns off while it's raining hailstones outside is a good day to look for that flashlight in the creepy basement. It's not. If I was in one of these movies I think I would react like this:
Scream and Run. Scream. And. Run.

Love is Right In Front Of Them

In TV shows there are always those best friends who are just a little more than friends and everybody knows it. Well... Everyone except them. Remember Ned and Moze, Keely and Phil, Gordo and Lizzie, Zoey and Chase. I could go on forever! These guys all knew they liked the other but just wouldn't say which often caused a lot of TV's to be broken from exasperated viewers! After a million episodes of eyes locking, hands brushing, and compliment giving, they finally get together. Except in Phil of the Future, Phil had to leave and go back to the 22nd century! *Spoiler, kind of.* What is it with people on TV and not letting their crush know they like them? Wait... that happens in real life! Yeah you, person reading this, don't you have some calls to make.
But seriously, how were these two not dating straight away?

They Could Make Things A Whole Lot Easier For Themselves

In TV shows and movies, usually someone always does something that is going to make their parents want to kill them. You know like breaking an antique vase, throwing a party that goes crazy or getting bad grades on a test. When these things happen TV characters always make an extremely extravagant plan to fix the problem when they could solve the issue in a couple of minutes.  Remember the That's So Raven episode where Raven's parents were supposed to come in because she stood up to a mean teacher. Instead of just telling her parents that all she did was stand up to the guy, she went around school dressed up like her mother and eventually it ended in disaster with Raven getting her precious phone taken for two weeks. TV show characters always have to make things a little more difficult for themselves and we still don't know why?
Did anyone else wonder how Raven was able to afford all these disguises?

Your Image Doesn't Define Who You Are

What is it with TV shows and their characters being able to show what kind of person they are straight away? If they were wearing glasses; they were geeks, if they were wearing girly clothes; they're popular and if they were wearing all black; they're the goths and emos. Since when did the way you dress or do your hair show what kind of person you are. I love an all black outfit but I also love dancing around my room singing Katy Perry. Some TV shows like Disney's Liv and Maddie (Yes. I do have a Disney addiction.) magnify characters stereotypes so much it hurts. I'm the school's star athlete,  I can't like wearing dresses and heels! Nope. that's not how life works.
Guess what persona she is trying to be?!

Even though our favourite TV characters are sometimes clueless TV is pretty different from our every day lives and I guess that's what makes it so interesting and enjoyable! What are some of your favourite TV shows and movies?
